Nasscom in its Report  'Research & Intelligence on Software Testing - Shifting from Functional to Business Assurance' talks about  the scenario  of the Indian Software Testing Industry and its potential for growth.

President of Nasscom Mr. Som Mittal in his foreword to this report states, - "Over the last 5-6 years, India has become one of the leading destinations for outsourcing of Software Testing services accounting for 32 per cent of the total global outsourcing share. In 2010 India accounted for only $3.2 Billion of the overall software testing market but is expected to grow to $15 Billion by 2020.

Joint Survey Report by Dataquest  and STeP-IN Forum

In an earlier survey, the first of its kind in India jointly donr by Dataquest and STeP-IN, it was found that testing in India is one of the key revenue generators for IT service organizations. More than 80% respondents reported full-time or dedicated testers for 70% or more of test activities.

This survey titled 'The State of Practice in The Indian Testing Industry' covers how Software Testing is now being perceived as an engineering discipline firmly integrated into the development or product implementation process. The survey has dwelt on areas relating to business objectives, forecasting and approach to test services delivery including tools and automation.

All effort was made to ensure an equal distribution between small, medium and large organizations.
