The next big wave in Software Testing

 

There are fundamental shifts happening in technology today. These include the pervasiveness of social media and mobility leading to a Big Data explosion, the threat of cyber-attacks worldwide, and the fundamental moving of businesses to the cloud. These trends throw up a new set of challenges and opportunities for testing professionals everywhere. What new skills and tools are required to capitalize on these technology trends? Which companies are best positioned to capitalize on these opportunities? Where will the next testing leaders emerge from? This talk will address some of these questions and provide the audience with my perspective on what to look for in the next 5 years in the testing field.

Sashi Reddi, VP & GM, Big Data and Analytics at CSC (NYSE: CSC) is responsible for building the Big Data business for CSC reporting to the CEO, Mike Lawrie. CSC is a $16 Billion IT services and consulting company.

Previously, Sashi was the founder and CEO of AppLabs, the world’s largest independent software testing company with over 2,500 QA professionals in India, the US, and the UK. AppLabs was funded by Sequoia Capital India. CSC acquired AppLabs in September 2011. Series A investors in AppLabs received a 10X return on their investment in 6 years.

A serial entrepreneur, Sashi has started three other companies prior to AppLabs.  These were EZPower Systems (web content management pioneer acquired by DocuCorp, and eventually a part of Oracle), iCoop (group purchasing dotcom), and FXLabs (leading Indian game developer acquired by Foundation 9 Entertainment).

Sashi began his career consulting on technology and strategy to Fortune 500 companies in the travel, financial services, automotive and consumer packaged goods industries.

Sashi received his BTech in Computer Science from the IIT Delhi, an MS in Computer Science from NYU, and later a PhD from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Sashi serves on the advisory board of Wharton Entrepreneurial Programs and as an advisor to IIT Hyderabad. He also runs a charitable organization that supports the educational and overall development needs of 600 children in 3 schools in India.
